From Marquette To Chicago

Well James and I have been pretty busy traveling around lately and it's been awesome! Last weekend we were able to drive up to Marquette for a couple days to hang out with the family and see some of my high school friends. It was a really nice relaxing weekend! We sat around and watched the first season of Bones, played some frisbee golf, James played croquet for the first time and smashed Dad and I (so he obviously lied about never playing before..), played Scotland Yard which is our new favorite game! The best part of the weekend was getting a free cake from the Landmark where we had our reception in Marquette. They told us to come back for our first year anniversary and get a free cake so we did! So delicious.. mmm making me hungry all over again just looking at the picture

We decided to have Dmitri come stay with us for a week and so we just brought him back to East Lansing and did some fun things with him through out the week.
We ..
Went swimming at some pools
James and him went up to the press boxes in Spartan Stadium, and played some more frisbee golf
We went to the Potter Park Zoo and looked at cute tigers!! I just want to steal one and take it home with me :)

Then we went to Chicago Thursday night so Dema could catch a bus the next day and It so happened that James' older brother who lives in Pennsylvania was in Chicago for a business trip so it worked out great! We walked around town and ate yummy cheesecake

We went up to the Sears Tower which is apparently called Willis Tower now? Dumb. We went out to the Sky Deck where the floor is made of glass and stood out to look over Chicago. Talk about awesome and so scary at the same time!! Way cool.

Floating in the air! Yikes It made me so so nervous.

After we dropped Dema off at the bus station we went over to Shedd Aquarium, and it was honestly the worst day to go because it was free general admission for Chicago residents and the line was a 2 1/2 hour wait...talk about bad luck. Usually you can just walk right in! It was SO crowded. Anyways we just payed a little extra to skip the line :) It was just too awesome not to go! We saw sharks and dolphins, adorable otters, tons of fish, a scary fat anaconda and jelly fish! I love aquariums and zoo's. They are the BEST!

Overall it was such a great week! We did a ton of fun stuff and now all I want to do is sit on t he couch and watch movies all day! Last week of Summer classes! So excited for my 2 classes to be over. Also looking forward to the 4th of July in Washington D.C. and our 1 year anniversary! Jeez time just flies by. Can't wait for many years to come! :)

Lazy Crafty Kinda Day

Well today has definitely been one of those days where I do not feel like doing anything. I had both classes from 11:30-6:00 and just was in the mood of not trying, especially in my abstract drawing class where we stand for 3 hours straight drawing whatever we feel like. Today I was not feeling the abstract vibes and was always looking for an excuse to go to the bathroom or walk up to my locker for something I "forgot". I really am not a slacker..today yes I admit I was completely.

Now after eating dinner and watching the season finale of Awake, James is off to basketball and when he usually goes to exercise I usually convince myself that I should work out too..buuuuut like I said, it's one of those lazy days.

So this is when I usually turn to crafts! My favorite :)

Our 1 year anniversary is coming up and I forgot how much I love to scrapbook, so I decided to compile a 1 year of our lives scrapbook and then just add to it as time goes on. I'm excited and usually can always get lost in scrapbooking but have to remember I'm still in school and still have homework. Lame. Why did I take summer classes again? Only 4 more weeks! In the mean time..homework can wait...

So excited to use this super cute paper I got from Hobby Lobby

I just think everyone should scrapbook, It's a great way to hold onto memories and it's really relaxing to me. A perfect Sunday hobby!

Recent News

So things have been pretty busy for the two of us, this summer I am taking 2 classes, working at The Limited and have an internship at an alterations/costume design shop. James is only...working, lucky him. Although he is working a lot, more than me, so we are pretty busy! Recently we ran the Tough Mudder in Amherst, Ohio which is a 12 mile race though mud trails including about 26 obstacles along the way! These obstacles include climbing over 10 foot walls, monkey bars over muddy water, and crawling under barbed wire! It was insane to say the least but truly was fun and made us feel great about ourselves being able to complete something like that. We ran it with James's 2 brothers and younger sister.

Here's a picture of us during the race.

Last weekend was Memorial Day weekend and we went to Grand Haven to Dave and Katie's house to spend a couple days at the beach and in the sun. It was great we spent time with family, went on a run, grilled out and had a bonfire. It felt great to relax and enjoy each other's company!
